SEIKO 6139-6002 “Cevert” Restoration

An incorrect crystal had been installed, forcing the hands to be bent to clear the glass. The seals and gaskets had hardened over time, leaving them unable to perform their function. The luminous compound on the dial and hands was aged and discoloured, and mould had started to form on the indices.

The movement was fully stripped, cleaned, and rebuilt with correct replacement parts where required. A new crystal and seals were fitted, and the hands were carefully straightened and re-lumed. The dial was also re-lumed to achieve a clean, consistent finish across the watch.

The watch now runs beautifully and looks exceptional — a complete transformation that brings this vintage Seiko chronograph back to life.
