SEIKO 6139-6000 aka. Proof Cevert
The movement showed signs of rust, the seals had failed, and the dial lume had deteriorated. Both the case and bracelet were scratched and heavily worn. There was an extreme amount of oil throughout the movement, which had caused damage to the dial surface. Overall, this watch presented a real challenge to return to normal operating condition.
The movement was fully stripped, cleaned, and rebuilt with replacement parts where necessary. A new crystal and seals were fitted, and the hands and indices were re-lumed. The centre sweep hand and sub-dial hand were repainted, correcting a previous poor attempt. The dial was carefully degreased and restored to preserve its original character.
The watch now runs beautifully and looks exceptional — a complete transformation that brings this vintage Seiko back to life.
